Common Questions and Answers Regarding the Leigh Light:

How do I attach the Leigh Light to my smart device?

The leigh light uses an advanced reusable adhesive layer to attach to the light source on your smart device. Simply peel the temporary backing and gently press the chip onto your smart device's flashlight source, then turn on your flash! Click here for more in-depth instructions.

Is the Leigh Light Reusable?

Yes! the Leigh Light's uses a special adhesive that is reusable over and over. When removing the chip, gently twist and peel it off the device and place onto any clean smooth surface for storage. Dr. Leigh likes to store hers on her ID badge. It's also washable!

Does the Leigh Light Need Batteries?

Nope , the Light Light only needs a light source to shine through the chip. This means tiny flashlights, penlights or other small lighted sources with some amount of surface area to stick to can be used. For safety purposes and to avoid risk of melting the adhesive, only adhere to LED lights and not directly to any bulbs.

How much blue light are we talking here?

This device is not meant to color the whole room blue, but does an excellent job of lighting up a small area of interest.

My photos aren't very good, what can I do to make them better?

Ensure Flash is set to “ON”
Dim the room a little, if possible
Hold device close to object (about 6” away)
Zoom-in to magnify the object
Touch screen to focus on the object
Use free hand to help keep object stable, use other hand to capture!

Do I have to remove my cellphone case to apply the Leigh Light?

Most likely not. Leigh has tested many different shapes and sizes to try and find the best for optimal blue light emission as well as be compatible with most cellphone cases. Leigh does not like to have to remove her cell phone case, so her intention was to make a product that does not require to do so. However, there may be a few phone cases where the flashlight is almost completely encircled by the case, and thus there is not quite enough surface for the adhesive to grab onto, in this case the Large Leigh Light can be trialed and may work. Feel free to get our assorted variety to try the different shapes and sizes to see which works best for you!

How big is the Leigh Light?

Currently we have 3 different sizes/shapes of the Leigh Light:

All Leigh Lights are 4mm thick.
The Circle version is our most versatile and newest version that is a standard 9mm diameter.
The Square version is a handmade square/rectangular shape that varies in dimensions from about 7.5mm to 9.5mm in width.
The Large version is an octagonal-like shape that is about 12mm in width.

We are still in small scale production, so let us know which sizes/shapes worked best for you or if you have any ideas for different versions!

My Leigh Light won't stick.

1. Check the back of your Leigh Light chip. If the surface of the adhesive is dirty (dust, dirt, animal hairs, oils) then you can simply wash it! Run warm water from the sink over the Leigh Light back to warm and loosen any contaminates, gently rub some soap on the surface. Then allow to AIR DRY sticky-side up. DO NOT DRY WITH A FIBROUS CLOTH as this will contaminate the sticky surface again.

2. The adhesive backing of the Leigh Light does not adhere well to oily surfaces. Try cleaning the area of your phone that you intend to use the Leigh light to remove any oil, isopropyl alcohol usually works well for this purpose. Then ensure the surface is dry before attempting to restick.

I've washed the Leigh Light, but it's still not sticking.

The engineering staff at Leigh Light has done everything within the realm of known science to extend the lifetime use of the Leigh light. However, there may come a time to retire your Leigh Light chip and install a new and fresh chip. Click HERE to order more!
